Best Cruelty Free and Vegan Perfumes

If you’re looking for a cruelty free perfume that is also vegan friendly (i.e. one that does not contain any animal based ingredients) then this list is for you! I have a bunch of amazing cruelty free perfumes that you may not have known about before, and they’re from super popular brands that are widely available nationwide.

These perfumes all range in price, so there’s honestly something for every budget on this list. I hope this post is helpful for you and takes some of the work out of finding a new vegan fragrance that you love! Keep scrolling to see the list of some of the best cruelty free perfumes out there right now.

Why Choose Cruelty Free Products?

I could go on and on about all of the reasons why, but the main reason is that animals are kept in cages for their entire lives and typically never see sunshine or the outside of a testing lab. It is an extremely harsh and cruel environment (not to mention the fact that they have to endure chemical burns on a regular basis) and it’s not “only” rodents that companies test on, it’s cats, dogs, and rabbits too.

Because you’re here reading this, you are most likely already aware of all of that, so thank you for looking into cruelty free and vegan perfumes today! If you have a family member or friend who isn’t aware of the realities of animal testing, you could share this post with them to help inform them of why it’s so important to avoid buying products that are tested on animals.

Best Cruelty Free and Vegan Perfumes:

1. Glossier You

This is one of the best cruelty free perfumes I have ever come across! Glossier is known for making products that naturally enhance you and your own features rather than covering them up, and that’s really the angle they were going for with this fragrance. It’s very soft and light, and just makes you smell better but not unfamiliar, if that makes sense!

*Side note – Glossier is completely cruelty free but tweeted in 2017 that this fragrance is not fully vegan. However, they also stated that it contains no animal derived ingredients. If you’re strictly vegan this one may not be a good fit for you, according to the brand.

2. Marc Jacobs Daisy

This one is such a classic – so many people know and love it. Marc Jacobs is so amazing because it’s a high end fashion house with a full beauty line at Sephora that is completely cruelty free, which can be difficult to find!

The scent is so floral and girly, so if you’re into that then this is perfect for you. I almost always get compliments on how I smell whenever I wear this too!

Ingredient List: Alcohol Denat., Fragrance, Water, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzophenone-3, Benzyl Benzoate, Bht, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Methyl 2-Octynoate, Fd&C Yellow N5 (Ci 19140), Fd&C Yellow N6 (Ci 15985).

3. Ouai Melrose Place Eau De Parfum

Ouai is a really popular haircare brand that recently came out with a couple of different scents. Their packaging is so minimalistic and gorgeous, and this perfume definitely does not disappoint.

The scent has notes of bergamot, champagne, berry, and freesia, among other things.

Ingredient List: Alcohol Denat., Parfum (Fragrance), Aqua (Water, Eau), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Citral, Citronellol, Ci 75470 (Red 4).

4. Stella McCartney Eau De Toilette

Stella McCartney is another one of the luxury fashion houses that makes cruelty free perfumes, and they’re amazing. This one is her classic scent with notes of rose, citrus and amber. It’s super feminine and great for date night or even just to wear as an every day scent.

The bottle is made from recycled class too, making the packaging sustainable which is awesome!

5. Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Spray Perfume

Pacifica is a really cute and affordable completely vegan brand that you should definitely check out! This perfume has fruity and floral notes of jasmine and sweet orange, and is good for every day wear when you want something super light and not overpowering.

Ingredient List: alcohol denat. (natural grain), parfum (Pacifica’s own fragrance blend with natural and essential oils), aqua (water).

6. Marc Jacobs Eau So Decadent

Marc Jacobs really crushed it with this one. The bottle is SO gorgeous and looks like a bag from their collection! This bottle looks so beautiful on your vanity, and the scent itself has notes of ivy, pear, amber, and magnolia. I would describe the scent as more romantic!

Marc Jacobs has been a big player in the cruelty free perfume market and all of the scents that I’ve tried from him have been amazing.

7. Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Mist

This body mist smells very tropical gives off vacation vibes which will help get you through the cold weather months this year! It actually smells like summer! Also, it comes in really cute packaging and a little bit of this goes a long way.

Ingredient List: Alcohol Denat., Aqua (Water, Eau), Parfum (Fragrance), PEG-40-Hydrogenated Castor Oil, t-Butyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Butyphenyl Methylpropional, Courmarin, Limonene.

8. Le Labo Eau De Parfum

Le Labo blends their cruelty free, vegan perfumes in New York City and is dedicated to creating beautiful artisanal fragrances. Their packaging and branding are very luxurious, and this bottle would look amazing on your vanity or in the makeup and beauty area in your bathroom.

The scent itself has notes of sandalwood and cedarwood, so it’s a little bit of a warmer scent that’s perfect for dinner dates.

Ingredient List: Alcohol Denat, Parfum (Fragrance), Aqua (Water), Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Isoeugenol, Limonene, Linalool.

D&C Violet No.2 (Ci 60730). Fd&C Blue No. 1 (Ci 42090).

10. The 7 Virtues Blackberry Lily Eau De Parfum

This cruelty free perfume from The 7 Virtues actually lasts longer than the typical perfume because of its higher concentration of oils! It has notes of magnolia, blackberry, geranium, and lily, and it smells kind of nostalgic in a way!

This is another warm type of scent that is great for night time outings and dates.

Ingredient List: Sugar Cane Alcohol, Denat, Rusbus, Water, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Limolene, Linalool.
