Since we are now in the very start of a brand new year (and decade!), it’s a good idea to have a solid and healthy morning routine that will set the foundation for a productive and successful day. Morning is the time when we’re typically most productive, and nighttime should be for winding down and relaxing. So if you’re struggling with waking yourself up and getting going each morning, then just continue reading for some inspiration to help you create a healthy girl boss morning routine!

1. Make Your Bed
Making your bed when you get up in the morning is a great way to set the course for the rest of your day. It allows you to get yourself organized and feel like you’ve accomplished something productive early on in the day!
If your bed is made then your room will also seem more put together, which will give you more peace of mind and put you in a great place mentally to get a ton of things done!
2. Make A Healthy Plant Based Breakfast
If you want to have the most productive day you possibly can, nourishing yourself with high quality nutrition is the best way to do so. Start your healthy morning routine off by eating a breakfast full of fruits to give yourself the energy you need to have the best day possible.
I also suggest taking a multivitamin, because this is the best way to make 100% sure that you’re getting all of your essential nutrients you need for your brain to function its best so you can be super successful, whether you’re vegan or not! These vitamins come in the cutest personalized packs with your name on them, and you pick and choose which vitamins you want in your pack!
You can also check out what I eat in a day as a vegan to get more ideas for plant based meals!
Some quick + easy breakfast ideas:
-
A big bowl of oats topped with granola and fresh fruit
-
Your favorite healthy cereal with sliced bananas on top
-
A large fruit and vegetable smoothie with hemp/chia/flax seeds for fiber and added protein
-
A large serving of avocado toast
-
A tofu scramble and a side of toast with jam (this tofu scramble is delicious)
-
And of course a cup of coffee if that’s your thing 🙂

3. Get Dressed And Ready For The Day
Whether you work in an office or work from home, you should always plan to get yourself dressed and ready for the day.
It doesn’t even matter if it’s Sunday and you’re planning on staying home the entire day.
Why? Because if you lounge around in your pajamas with no makeup on and messy hair, it’s going to make you feel like doing nothing but watching Netflix and laying on the couch.
If you get dressed and presentable for the day, even if you’re not planning on going out and doing anything, it’s really going to help you get into that productive mindset versus just staying in your house clothes!
Trust me, you need to try this on a day where you’re not planning on really leaving the house and see how it improves your mentality! You will honestly get so much more done, and it really is just all a mindset thing.
4. Do 15 Minutes Of Reading
Choose something, whether it’s a book or a motivating blog post or magazine article, and read for 15 minutes each morning. This is a great way to take a little bit of time for yourself and just relax before starting a busy day.
Set the time aside and then put your phone away so you can truly create an environment with no distractions. A girl boss is constantly reading and improving her mind, so pick reading materials that inspire you to take action and create the life of your dreams!
5. Write Out Your To Do List
This is something that is so helpful – physically writing out your to do list using a notepad or journal. I used to keep my to do lists in my phone, and still do have some in there, but I just find that actually writing things out makes them seem more real and attainable.
One reason for this is because instead of having all of your ideas jumbled up in your head, you have them in front of you to look at and be able to better prioritize!
When you’re able to see things written down in front of you, it really helps keep you on track with accomplishing the things you need to get done.
This planner really helps me with staying organized and keeping my goals at the top of my mind every day!
So, write out your goals and objectives for each day of the week and watch how your focus improves significantly.

Love this post! I really like the idea of getting dressed, regardless if you work from home. I don’t feel like I’m starting off on the right foot unless I’ve showered and gotten dressed. If I’m in pjs, I just feel like going back to bed, haha.

LOVE THIS! Super relatable and proud to say I practice 4 out of the 5 tips you’ve suggested! YOU’RE TOTALLY RIGHT ABOUT #3!! I just recently realized that if I don’t get ready early in the morning… it doesn’t matter if my plans are in the late afternoon, I’ll end up canceling because I just don’t want to get ready! (I’m horrible). So, I’m trying to commit to getting ready in the mornings so I won’t get in that slump.
I’ve also committed to reading more in 2020, which I’ll admit, I’ve been doing a good job at. I usually write out a to do list the day before. Great tips doll!! I enjoyed reading!
