A few days ago I posted something similar to what I’m going to be talking about today that I got super positive feedback on, which was my tips on getting ready for life post quarantine! So since you guys loved that post I’m sharing more tips today on living a healthy lifestyle after quarantine is over.
These tips will help you to either start a healthy lifestyle if you don’t feel like you have already, or maintain it once the lockdown is over and everyone is back out in the world. I hope you find this helpful, and keep scrolling to find out how to live a healthy, positive life when quarantine is finished!
1. Cook More Meals At Home
One thing that I have really figured out during quarantine is that I actually like cooking and making my own food at home (maybe not seven days a week, but most days!). With the fast pace of life pre-quarantine, a lot of us would find ourselves just rushing out to get food from our favorite fast casual restaurants, or if you’re like me from the Whole Foods buffet!
But making food at home is so much better, not only for saving money but also because you can control what goes in your food. Restaurant food is so delicious, but almost everything is fried in a bunch of oil and just overall not great for you. Cooking at home is also better for the environment since you don’t have any packaging that has to be thrown away like you would if you got takeout.
If you feel like you already make a ton of your meals at home, maybe have a meatless Monday or start making more vegan food at home. This is something that is so easy to do and can improve your lifestyle and make you healthier pretty quickly! Check out my What I Eat In A Day As A Vegan post for meal ideas and recipes 🙂
2. Spend More Time Walking
Since most people would tend to drive everywhere before quarantine, even to a grocery store a few blocks away, I think now we’re realizing that being outside and taking walks is actually really nice and refreshing. When quarantine is over with and life goes back to normal, I think spending more time walking would be so good for everyone.
Walking helps you reconnect with nature and it also gives you the chance to think about things more freely than you would be able to if you were driving! Plus you’re getting some exercise in that doesn’t require you going to a gym and being around a ton of people, which isn’t 100% safe to do right now.
3. Take Time To Reflect
You know those times when it feels like life is just flying by and you don’t even have time to slow down for a second and just think? Now more than ever, we’re starting to realize how important it is to be able to reflect on our lives and our choices, and really figure out whether we’re living and creating the life that we want to be living.
To keep living (or start living) a healthy lifestyle after quarantine ends, you need to prioritize taking time for yourself at least once a day to just sit in silence and think about and process anything you might need to reflect on that happened.
As an example, maybe you had a bad experience driving and someone honked at your or cut you off. Instead of letting something like that ruin your day or your sleep that night, take a few minutes to fully just feel it out, be upset about it for a bit, then understand that it’s not personal and stuff like that happens to people every single day. Processing things properly really just helps us get over and forget about them!
4. Take Responsibility
For sure, there are lots of things in life that are beyond our control. But there’s also a ton of stuff that IS well within our control. Taking responsibility for the choices you make, the way you think and what you think of yourself, and how you treat others are all amazing steps you can take to live a healthy and positive lifestyle once quarantine is over.
This mentality is not about blaming yourself, and it’s definitely not about beating yourself up. It’s about realizing that you are in full control of your life so that you can stop feeling powerless and like you have no say and life is just happening to you, and you can start taking your power back and creating huge positive change in your life!

These are such thoughtful tips for living after quarantine! All this time, I’ve been thinking “I can’t wait for things to go back to normal”, but now that I think of it, I don’t want things to be completely the same! I used to wake up and go to bed with so much anxiety because of how busy I was, but now I feel like I can actually breathe. Not that quarantine is the best time, but I think the pace feels better to me than the usual busy life.
