If you’re not yet familiar with what Splendid Spoon is, it’s a plant based meal delivery service that offers everything from grain bowls to smoothies and wellness shots.

So in this Splendid Spoon review, I’ll be going pretty in depth and explaining exactly what Splendid Spoon is, how it works, talking about their meals, and giving a verdict on whether or not I think it’s worth it. Splendid Spoon is a subscription model meal delivery service that brings fresh, healthy plant based meals and smoothies straight to your door! With tons of amazing nutritious and hearty options, it’s perfect for vegans, but I think it’s really a service that anyone can enjoy no matter what type of diet or lifestyle you follow.

It’s definitely a very convenient service to have at your fingertips, because it’s designed to help save you time in the kitchen with ready made food items that only need to be heated up before enjoying them.

With a wide variety of plant based options, I would venture to say it’s a pretty safe bet that you’re going to find a few things (or more!) on their site that you love!

How Does Splendid Spoon Work?

Splendid Spoon is a subscription based service (*with a one time purchase option available as well), so you typically will need to sign up for a recurring weekly or monthly plan. That being said, make sure to keep in mind that it’s super simple to cancel your plan at any time. You can also customize your plan to have a box come every two weeks or even just once a month if you like, so it’s really easy to work it around your schedule and needs and it doesn’t have to come every single week if that’s too much for you.

If you’re going to be traveling out of town or you just don’t need a delivery for whatever reason during any given week, you can easily skip a box and have your order come the next week instead. I thought that that tidbit was worth mentioning in this honest Splendid Spoon review because I know that can be a concern for people if they’re going on vacation and they have active subscriptions.

They also offer “On Demand” boxes that require no subscription or commitment whatsoever and allow you to try a great variety of different products of theirs through a one time purchase just so you can see how you like everything. Some of the On Demand box options that you can choose from include a 25 pack of wellness shots, a 15 pack of smoothies, or a full day reset that includes six meals and one shot!

Raspberry Cacao Smoothie: If I had to pick an absolute favorite in this category, it would be tough because I’m a smoothie ADDICT, but I think I would say it’s the Raspberry Cacao flavor. It’s a little tart, but just the perfect amount, and with the perfect amount of sweetness as well. It’s got decent amounts of fiber and protein, and even a little iron.

Mint Chip Smoothie: This was another one of my top favorites because I love anything that combines chocolate and mint. This one has amazing ingredients like almond butter, spirulina, pea protein, peppermint, and Himalayan salt. It also has some protein and iron, and according to its product page it can help you fight fatigue as well as inflammation in the body! Definitely one of the top items to check out in this Splendid Spoon review.

Strawberry Chocolate Smoothie: With 10 grams of protein, this smoothie is an awesome nutritious snack for when you want a boost of protein in between meals. The strawberry and cacao together make a great combination. This would be great to have after a big workout!

Splendid Spoon Review: Is It Worth It?

This would not be a proper Splendid Spoon review if I didn’t tell you plain and simple whether or not I think purchasing a subscription is worth it. My answer is that it depends on many factors, but overall I would say that if you’re a young, busy professional working a lot of hours and in need of a convenient, on the go solution for your meals, then this is definitely something for you to check out.

It does not require a major commitment at all, since cancelling is extremely easy and hassle free, so I feel like why not give it a try if you’re into the meal delivery service thing?

Remember that this is also an investment in your health, and the price point reflects that. You are going to be paying a bit of a premium, but in exchange you’re getting amazing quality smoothies and meals that are plant based and vegan, gluten free, soy free, and non GMO!

Splendid Spoon Review: FAQ

Is it easy to cancel Splendid Spoon?

Yes, it is! You can easily cancel in just a few clicks, and the cool thing is that you can also skip a delivery for any given week with just a couple of clicks too. This is a really great option for travel – if you’re going to be out of town and you want to skip your deliveries for a week or two you can do that at any point before the cutoff deadline for that particular week.

If you want to skip a delivery, you have until 4 pm Eastern on Thursday to skip your order for the following Wednesday, and until 4 pm Eastern on Sunday to skip your order if you receive your deliveries on Friday.

Is Splendid Spoon Healthy?

Yes, Splendid Spoon is considered to be a healthy subscription service. They are completely plant based and vegan, and their products are gluten free, (mostly) soy free, and non GMO. They use fresh, quality fruit and vegetable ingredients and therefore make it really easy to get more of each in your diet.

This Splendid Spoon review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention that they are dedicated to constantly working on their sustainability efforts, and their packaging is already 100% recyclable which is so great!

Is Splendid Spoon Plant Based/Vegan?

Yes, Splendid Spoon is 100% plant based and vegan. Their mantra that they believe is that “the refrigerator is the best medicine cabinet” and I couldn’t agree more with that sentiment. They use quality fruit and vegetable ingredients without any meat, dairy, egg, or fish.

Can Splendid Spoon Help You Lose Weight?

There are of course no guarantees, and Splendid Spoon does not make any claims about being a weight loss type of company. HOWEVER, since these meals are almost completely made up of fruits, vegetables and seeds, this means that you’re just naturally going to be consuming a lower calorie diet which means that there is definitely a good chance that you may be able to lose some weight while on a Splendid Spoon meal plan!

How Much Does Splendid Spoon Cost?

So they have a few different options when it comes to their meal plans, and they are as follows:

Breakfast Plan, $65 – includes a weekly delivery of five smoothies
Lunch Plan, $65 – includes a weekly delivery of 5 soup and grain bowls
Breakfast and Lunch Plan, $95 – includes a weekly delivery of five smoothies and five soup and grain bowls
Breakfast, Lunch and Reset Plan, $135 – includes a weekly delivery of five smoothies, five soup and grain bowls, and five light soups
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Reset Plan, $185 – includes a weekly delivery of five smoothies, five soup and grain bowls, five noodle bowls, and five light soups

How Does Splendid Spoon Compare to Revive Superfoods?

Revive Superfoods is another similar service that is very vegan friendly. I would say that Splendid Spoon has a greater variety available, since Revive only has smoothies and a small selection of foods like falafel and soups, while Splendid Spoon has quite a few grain bowls, noodle bowls, and shots. Revive is a great smoothie delivery service, but Splendid Spoon has a great selection of items and categories for different meals.

How Does Splendid Spoon Compare to Thrive Market?

Splendid Spoon offers ready made smoothies, grain bowls, noodle bowls, soups, and wellness shots, while Thrive Market is more of an online grocery store that delivers packaged goods and snacks. Thrive Market also operates on a membership basis rather than a subscription basis.

Splendid Spoon products are ready made and require minimal prep before they’re ready to eat, so it’s a different type of service from Thrive Market. Although this is a Splendid Spoon review post, I should also mention that Thrive is an amazing service as well in its own right and it’s worth it to check it out and see what they offer.

And if you’re really looking to save a good amount of time, I would definitely recommend using both of these services at the same time if you can swing it. So just to round all of the above points up, I think Splendid Spoon is an amazing delivery service because they offer delicious, healthy plant based meals and smoothies that are easy to prepare and can be ready to consume in only a few minutes.

If you’re looking to save money, then this service might not be for you. However, if it’s TIME that you’re looking to save, then look no further. Splendid Spoon products are nutritious and high quality, and require very little effort to whip up!

The final verdict: I think if you want to invest in your health and are looking for ways to free up some more of your valuable time, then this is definitely a great option for you!
