With more people realizing every day why cruelty free is just better for so many reasons, the demand for good cruelty free beauty and self care products has really shot up recently. So here’s a list of the best cruelty free deodorants of 2020 to check out, and hopefully you’ll find something on this list that will work really well for you!
Almost all of the products on this list are vegan friendly (a couple may contain beeswax which will be denoted in the description), and many of these deodorants are aluminum free and made from clean and natural ingredients. In the past, aluminum free or “natural deodorants” may have gotten a bad reputation, but with the advances in aluminum free formulas over the last several years I definitely do not think that that is a big issue anymore.
I could on and on about all of the reasons why, but the main reason is that animals are kept in cages for their entire lives and typically never see sunshine or the outside of a testing lab. It’s an extremely harsh and cruel environment (not to mention the fact that they have to endure chemical burns on a regular basis) and it’s not “only” rodents that companies test on, it’s cats, dogs, and rabbits too.
Because you’re here reading this, you are most likely already aware of all of that, so thank you for looking into cruelty free and vegan deodorants today! If you have a family member or friend who isn’t aware of the realities of animal testing, you could share this post with them to help inform them of why it’s so important to avoid buying products that are tested on animals.

This amazing cruelty free deodorant from Kosas is a new launch of 2020, and it already has rave reviews on Sephora’s site. It comes in really unique and innovative packaging that uses less plastic than your average tube of deodorant, and it even has Sephora’s “clean at Sephora” stamp of approval for being free of sulfates, parabens, and a list of about fifty other chemicals!
There are a few awesome really things about this deodorant. First, it is actually formulated to smooth your armpits. Yes, you read that right! It contains hyaluronic acid for moisturizing purposes, and as a result you will notice smoother and softer underarm skin over time and continued use. It also contains aloe vera, which further moisturizes, and this product can even help brighten your underarm area as well.
This product is definitely one of my favorite cruelty free and natural deodorants I’ve ever tried, and I would highly recommend it! It comes in both a scented version and an unscented version, so there’s one for either preference.
Drunk Elephant has another hit product with a cute name, and it’s their Sweet Pitti “clean at Sephora” deodorant! This one contains shea butter for tons of moisturizing that soothes your skin – it’s basically like skincare but for your underarms, and what else would we expect from Drunk Elephant?!
This deodorant lasts all day without reapplication for most people, and you won’t smell bad at the end of the day with this one. It’s not an anti perspirant, so it won’t prevent you from sweating (this is not healthy anyway as sweating is one of the body’s natural processes for removing toxins from your system), but the Mandelic acid in this formula actually neutralizes odor causing bacteria so you won’t have to experience any smell!
Definitely try this one out if you’re already a Drunk Elephant fan and want to add to your collection, or if you’re interested in a clean and cruelty free deodorant that really works amazingly well.
